Puppy Preschool is an early socialization and training program for puppies combined with an owner education program designed to help owners and puppies get off on the right track together and it’s great fun for both puppy and parents!

Many behavioural problems that we see with dogs in society may be attributed to isolation and inadequate training during the sensitive first few months of a pup’s life.

Puppy Preschool aims to help prevent behaviour problems, educate owners on all aspects of raising a puppy and then living with a dog in the family, and establish a close bond between the dog, the owner and the veterinary practice.

The course will also cover such things as:

  • How dogs learn
  • Basic obedience commands

  • Socialisation

  • Calming & settling

  • Jumping up

  • Toilet training

  • Basic health care

The Principle Aims of Puppy Preschool

  • To socialize puppies with other puppies and people
  • To start basic obedience training
  • To identify any potential behaviour problems early so that measures can be introduced to modify that trait.
  • To educate owners on all aspects of puppy development, pet care and living with a dog in the family
  • To help make trips to the vet more enjoyable for dogs, owners and veterinary staff!
  • To get puppies off to a good start so that they become controlled, well behaved and socially acceptable adults.
  • To teach good manners to dogs so that they can live happily ever after with their owners.

Puppy Preschool is taught by Karen Winkle a certified dog trainer and behaviour consultant who has held puppy classes for the last 18 years. Please give us a call on 4362 1644.
