Ilse joined the Ourimbah Vet Hospital team in January 2026. Graduating in South Africa in 1995, Ilse has experience across both mixed and small animal practices. For the past eight years, she has been practising in the Lake Macquarie and Central Coast area.

She has a particular passion for soft tissue surgery and dentistry and enjoys the challenge of working up complicated cases. Ilse is committed to providing the best care for her patients and continually develops her skills through ongoing professional learning.

Outside of work, Ilse enjoys writing and has published several books, primarily in her home language, Afrikaans. She also spends time drawing and painting, finding it a creative outlet beyond veterinary medicine.
